The base is powered by 3AA batteries so can basically be stood anywhere. There is a micro usb plug in the base so you can use rechargeable batteries and just leave it plugged in if you wish. Comes with a remote to turn it on/off and change colours. They also flash and dim etc. Basically a cool sign !
